March 31st – Open Enrollment for the ACA Ends

You may be thinking that health care coverage is not as high a priority for our communities as other pressing issues on the table, but in fact, health is a major challenge.  Here is an infographic developed by Out2Enroll that emphasizes this fact:

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) enrollment deadline is coming up on March 31st. Open enrollment ends and last day to enroll to avoid penalty for not having coverage.  There are a number of LGBT-specific resources available to learn more about the ACA and how to get healthcare insurance coverage.

Out2Enroll provides resources specifically for LGBT individuals and families, offering guidance and assistance to get medical insurance coverage.

Where to Start, What to Ask: A Guide for LGBT People Choosing Health Care Plans is a downloadable guide published by “Strong Families” and a host of LGBT partner groups. This guide provides information to help:

  • Evaluate your healthcare needs,
  • Navigate new insurance options and
  • Choose the best plan based on needs of LGBT families.
